Suppose you are a regular user of Black and Decker devices, then this battery charger is absolutely essential. It is much better than the battery charger provided with the Black and Decker battery, including a guidance as to the amount of charging having been done.

I’ve owned this charger for a while now, and it does a pretty good job of charging up my 14.4v Dewalt and Firestorm batteries quickly. I don’t care for B&D’s method of indicating the charge status on batteries. The flashing light is ok, but having some sort of series of lights or varying colors would have been a better choice. As mentioned earlier, this unit is not rated to charge 18v packs and does not “condition” the batteries as does the Dewalt unit.
I haven’t touched my 2 dead batteries since my original charger was dead 2 years ago. This charger can revive one of them.
Old one stopped working. This newer version is much more better and faster. Works with different volt battries. A plus!! Very happy with it.
