Used by a number of armies around the world, Swedish FireSteel’s dependability has already made it a favorite of survival experts, hunters, fishermen and campers. Transformers was a big hit on the silver screen and an even bigger hit with toy collectors. I had a hard time picking just one transformer toy, but I’m giving the honor to the Transformers Music Label SoundWave MP3 Player edging out the close second, Darth Vader Transformer. Have a look at the inside of the egg… A micro cosmos is there. You’ll see a breath-taking view of the Universe! It’s a shame I can’t tell you enough how beautiful stars are! The unique and small planetarium was produced under the supervising of Takayuki Ohira, the great planetarium developer. Mr. Ohira is in the Guinness Book of World Records for developing “Mega Star II - COSMOS” as the most advanced planetarium in the world.

The latest breakthrough in robotic walking is a bipedal robot that can turn on the spot to change direction - typical two-legged machines require the turning circle of an oil tanker to change course.
Video [WMV] provided to DWT by Tokyo-based scientist Masano Koeda of Ritsumeikan University shows a 50cm-tall robot that can turn through 90 degrees by a process of shuffling its feet while staying in one spot. Although it sounds insignificant, it has major implications for the tasks future machines will be able to perform.
The Koeda shuffle allows a robot to keep both feet in contact with the floor at all times, which makes balancing easier and allows it to carry a load in its arms.

You may already have come across the notorious China Bounder – a how-to-get-laid-while-still-caring-about-stuff blog from Shanghai written by a ‘Western scoundrel’ – through reports about internet censorship in China like this one, but it doesn’t hurt to pass on a reminder to check it out.I’m not going to comment on any of the things our titular hero gets up to in his personal life, but his discourses on the politics of China are definitely worth a read even if – no, especially if – you think you know all you need to know about the Middle Kingdom.
